CARDIFF RESIDENCE
A home away from home.
This 1,800 sq. ft. home sits just a block away from the main stretch of Cardiff Beach, San Diego. Featuring an all white interior and sunlight beaming in from the numerous windows and skylights. Our client requested a ‘natural’ home, with items sourced sustainably and up-cycled. All mattresses, bedding, and fabrics were sourced from organic materials- linens, cottons, and recycled. From real plants, case goods sourced sustainably, recycled and of reclaimed woods, we were able to produce a natural and organic home. A luxury vacation rental, ready for guests.
A few installations for this home were custom by MIC & NAY. Predominately the art. Our team swept through San Diego antique shops looking for items that told a story. Below, you see the buoys of Portuguese fishing boats that fished just off the coast of the San Diego harbor. An up-cycled material repurposed in the form of art. Bringing a little bit of the sea into the home.
A local company, @itsnottrash, known to repurpose and use reclaimed wood built our bed, along with a reclaimed wood mirror in the entry, coffee table, and reclaimed wood shelving.
